TUITION ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM
Since 1992 we have been successfully working with a tuition adjustment policy based on the ideal that Waldorf education should be accessible to all families who wish it for its own values, regardless of their economic status. Through our tuition adjustment program, we ensure that the acceptance of a child into our school does not depend on the financial resources of the child's family. Only after the child has been admitted to the school is the tuition adjustment application considered.
To participate in the tuition adjustment program, a family is expected to hold Waldorf education high on its list of financial priorities. An adjustment is not intended to support discretionary items such as after school activities, luxury items, a second home, investment portfolios, debt-free status or large amounts of home equity. Having any of these situations does not preclude an adjustment but would be taken into consideration in relation to the school’s needs.
Our tuition adjustment program embodies the school’s commitment to enter into relationship with members of our community and become aware of the needs and gifts of each member. We view these adjusted tuitions as a contribution to our income rather than a reduction. The program does not lessen our strong sense of fiscal responsibility. On the contrary, it requires thorough budget preparation and ongoing review to maintain the tuition adjustment program’s integrity as well as the values and ideals of Waldorf education.
IT TAKES MORE THAN TUITION
Parents make Waldorf education possible. They enhance the life of the school and the community. Through parents' involvement our school thrives with the life, light, warmth and strength to grow. By participating in Annual Giving, parents reaffirm their commitment to Waldorf education. Donations to Annual Giving are used to bridge the gap between the operating budget and tuitions collected. As we pursue outside funding, it is important that we show our own parents' support for the school. A gift of any amount helps us to achieve our goal of 100% participation in our Annual Giving fund.
The school depends on volunteer effort in other areas besides fundraising. We look for volunteers who have expertise and talent in many school development activities. This participation may involve financial donations and a commitment of time.
